Avowed Delays Fall Update, Plans Major Anniversary Patch for February

Obsidian Entertainment announces no fall update for Avowed, instead combining features into a major update for the game's one-year anniversary in February.

In what seems like a twist of fate, Avowed—Obsidian’s first-person RPG set in the Pillars of Eternity universe—was released last February. This game has since been navigating through its post-launch roadmap. Significant updates have included one that overhauled classes and another that provided additional talent points for players.

However, fans will have to wait a bit longer for new content. Originally, a fall update was planned, but Obsidian announced that there would be no such update this fall. The team hinted that they’re shifting focus to a larger one-year anniversary update scheduled for February, which is expected to incorporate features originally intended for the fall update alongside some new elements, marking it as the largest update yet.

New Features to Anticipate:

  • New Game Plus
  • Photo mode
  • A new weapon type
  • Character customization mid-game
  • Additional character presets
  • More Godlike feature presets

Obsidian has kept specifics about the additional features close to their chest, but they encourage fans to ‘stay tuned’ as February approaches for more details.
