This is one big lad (the lad is a war).
Strip away the impressive tech and Ashes of the Singularity’s main pull is its sheer scale. As a follow-up, Ashes of the Singularity 2 ups the ante with planet-wide conflicts involving thousands of both machines and human soldiers across multiple factions.

When the camera pans out, the large-scale battles feature countless troops, transforming vehicles into charred remains and forests into blazing infernos. It sends shivers down the spine reminiscent of watching Total Annihilation or Supreme Commander for the first time.
In addition to its size, the sequel introduces enhanced persistent destruction, where every vehicle and tree will bear the scars of battle. In a twist, a new faction teams up—a coalition of NATO, China, and Russia—known as the United Earth Forces, aiming to retake Earth from AI adversaries.
The developers, Oxide and publisher Stardock, claim that the technology now allows for more intricate warfare than before, enabling tiny, vulnerable humans to join the fray alongside machines. A new recruitment system automates elements like rally points, allowing for a straightforward gameplay experience amidst the chaos of battle.
However, the procedural map system may leave some wanting; personal touches in handcrafted maps are often lost in the sprawling chaos.
Ashes of the Singularity 2 is an exciting prospect for RTS fans, still without a specific release date but expected in 2026.
