On December 2, Fallout 76 launched the awaited Burning Springs update across all platforms. This expansion directs players to a post-apocalyptic rendition of southeastern Ohio. The update includes a new map for players to explore, alongside fresh activities like Bounty Hunting, a new Radhog pet, and the commencement of Season 23, themed ‘Blood X Rust’.
The core focus of Fallout 76’s latest update is the new Burning Springs map, situated on the border of West Virginia and Ohio. Though the game generally centers on the post-apocalyptic regions of Appalachia, Bethesda aimed to showcase Ohio as a previously unexplored area in the Fallout universe, inspired by Americana.
Additionally, players can access various fishing spots and catch new fish in this region, adding more depth to gameplay. The update also brings two new Public Events, ‘Gearin’ Up’ and ‘Sinkhole Solutions’, enhancing the interactive experience.
Bounty Hunting emerges as a noteworthy feature allowing players to hunt down targets with special conditions imposing mutations on them, thereby delivering unique challenges. A prominent character in this mode is the Ghoul, also known as Cooper Howard, who players will encounter during their quests. Actor Walton Goggins reprised his role as the Ghoul in Fallout 76. There are also significant changes to C.A.M.P. mechanics and other quality-of-life improvements included in this patch.
With the Burning Springs update, Bethesda has not only enriched the narrative of Fallout 76 but has also set the stage for ongoing adventures and explorations in its expansive world.
