Potential Rise in AMD Graphics Card Prices Amid RAM Supply Issues

AMD might increase the prices of its graphics cards by up to $40 due to the ongoing RAM supply crisis.

At present, reports suggest that AMD could implement a price increase for its graphics cards, reflecting a rise due to a constrained RAM supply chain. Recent discussions on social platforms have indicated potential hikes of $20 for cards with 8 GB of video RAM and $40 for those sporting 16 GB.

A notable leaker, harukaze5719, shared:

“AMD 8GB VRAM: +$20, AMD 16GB VRAM: +$40.”

As per current estimates, AMD’s 8 GB Radeon graphics cards, such as the RX 9060 XT and the RX 7600, may see their base prices rise accordingly. Historically, the MSRP for these components has already fluctuated, with 16 GB variants previously priced over $600. However, as supply issues persist, the possibility remains that consumers could end up facing higher than expected prices, especially if vendors incorporate additional margins on top of the VRAM increases.

Given the urgency of the situation, consumers might need to navigate a challenging market before considering upgrades.
