An unfortunate former Rockstar animator has drawn the attention of Grand Theft Auto enthusiasts following the posting of a demo reel featuring various animations from different titles by the company on Vimeo.
The two-minute video showcases completed scenes from GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, as well as animated shorts featuring Pixar-style characters. However, the opening segment—lasting about 20 seconds—has captured the spotlight.
The clip includes three animations set to the Tom Petty song Love is a Long Road, featured in the GTA 6 trailer. The first depicts a male character pulling a slimmed-down version of a lime bike from a rental station and returning it, another aspect of city life highlighting urban mobility in the upcoming game.
The other two animations portray a character resembling protagonist Lucia, as she climbs down from a truck and then hops to the ground, offering a glimpse into gameplay dynamics, hinting that elements like roof riding could be expanded in this iteration.
The animator, having dedicated over 20 years to high-profile titles, is currently under scrutiny by the community. Initial footage of their work has been shared widely, prompting Rockstar to remove it shortly after its debut, thus amplifying curiosity among fans.
In the realm of news concerning GTA 6, this incident underlines the ongoing anticipation for the game, which has seen two major delays and released two trailers showcasing its expansive universe.
