PewDiePie Steps Back from Gaming After 13 Years on YouTube
PewDiePie reveals he's stepping away from gaming, opting to focus on other pursuits as he adjusts to fatherhood.
After 13 years of being a gamer on YouTube, PewDiePie has announced he’s stepping away from video games for the time being. In a recent edition of his newsletter, the Kjellberg Mail, he explained his decision stems largely from his new role as a father, which has altered his perspective on how he spends his time.
“Since becoming a dad, everything does get evaluated differently. Every hour has weight now in a way it didn’t before. One of the biggest things I decided to drop was video games. But here’s the thing: if I really wanted to, there’d be plenty of time for me to play video games. I’ve just decided that, if time is limited, I’d rather be doing something else.”
While PewDiePie alluded to still playing occasional games, he expressed that the time for extended gaming sessions has come to an end. His recent videos have showcased not just gaming content but a broader spectrum of personal interests. Examples include his popular videos about his first PC build and his humorous take on building a nuclear supercomputer, both of which have garnered millions of views.
PewDiePie’s shift marks a significant change in his approach, indicating a desire to prioritize other activities over traditional gaming content, as he continues to adapt his channel to reflect his evolving life and interests.
