A Surprising Statistic: Only 1.5% of Players Have Turned a Rocketeer into a Mobile Weapons Platform

An exploration into the low percentage of players managing to achieve a specific challenge in Arc Raiders.

I’m absolutely enamored with the terrifying machines featured in Arc Raiders. Most of the time, they’re aggressively pursuing me with tasers or explosive projectiles, yet their creativity and responsiveness are quite exceptional. You can delay the Shredders by attacking their propulsion, legendary energy weapons can strip armor from elite Arcs, and flying robots falter when their engines are targeted.

In a remarkable twist, players can even ride flying Arcs akin to a floating chariot, a concept that isn’t news anymore; just secure a high vantage point, leap onto them, and hope for the best!

What genuinely surprised me when I checked the achievements on Steam was discovering there’s a task to engage an enemy (whether an Arc or another player) while riding a Rocketeer.

Challenging Achievements

Death From Above: Deal 50 damage to an enemy while atop a Rocketeer.

Accomplishing this is as absurd as it sounds. Given the Rocketeer are formidable foes (I would rather face a Queen anytime), I’m astonished that the completion rate is at 1.5% for this challenge! It even perplexes me that this number isn’t lower.

The fact that 1.5% of players succeeded in not just climbing onto one without losing their life but also found a target before being thrown off is impressive. However, it’s worth noting that the target can be any enemy, including the Rocketeer itself. It’s likely that many don’t escape this scenario unscathed.

Further Insight

Looking at achievements across the game, only 1.4% have completed the task of killing a Queen (and this may only count for the final blow), while a mere 1.1% have fallen victim to a supply drop, completing the ‘Just Dropping In’ achievement. Clearly, I have a new challenge in mind. Perhaps after I tame a Rocketeer, my fears towards them will lessen.

If you’re also taking on this challenge, guide videos are available that provide tips on how to effectively achieve this. Generally, using a Showstopper grenade to incapacitate the Rocketeer before hopping on could be a viable strategy.
