Cloud9 Parts Ways with Coach Groove and Takes a Step Back from Counter-Strike

Cloud9 announces the departure of coach Konstantin "groove" Pikiner and manager Aleksandr "Sweetypotz" Shcherbakov, while Perfecto remains the only player tied to the organization.

Cloud9 has officially announced the departure of both coach Konstantin “groove” Pikiner and manager Aleksandr “Sweetypotz” Shcherbakov from the organization. This leaves Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy as the sole remaining member of the team.

In a recent statement on X, Cloud9 shared that it is currently “taking a step back” from Counter-Strike, indicating that there are no immediate plans to return to the game. However, they mentioned, “We love CS and are always on the lookout for opportunities.”

Over recent months, several players have departed, including Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov and Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov, who joined BetBoom, and Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko who signed with G2. Timofey “interz” Yakushin has also left the team, leading to Perfecto being the only one left on the payroll.

The 25-year-old Perfecto shared in a recent HLTV interview that a high buyout is partly why he hasn’t secured a new team, stating, “I had many good invites, but sometimes it’s about buyouts, sometimes it’s about roles.”
