No Future Expansions Planned for Assassin's Creed Shadows

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Shadows will not receive additional major expansions following the Claws of Awaji release.

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows has no plans for further expansions similar in scale to the recently released Claws of Awaji. The game’s associate director, Simon Lemay-Comtois, noted in a discussion that, “at this moment for Year Two, there is no expansion on the size of Awaji that is planned, currently.”

This announcement comes as a surprise given Ubisoft’s previous track record of offering multiple expansions for past titles. According to Lemay-Comtois, future content will aim to be more gradual and focused. While players can expect smaller, enjoyable updates, they won’t match the heft of a full expansion.

Here’s what he shared: “Any content we want to do in Year Two will probably be more sparse. I’m not announcing anything at this point, but the strategy for year one was to be quick and reactive, so it means smaller drops, often.”

Lemay-Comtois added that although there will be no massive expansions, the team is still dedicated to providing ongoing support and updates for the game.
