Bloodborne continues to evolve on PC as the ShadPS4 emulator receives a significant performance boost with its latest update (v0.12.6). This improvement makes the game more accessible for players with less powerful hardware. While setting up the emulator can be tricky, the reward is worth it, especially compared to last year when Bloodborne was barely playable. There are plenty of guides available to help new users navigate through setup.
A recent video by tabeneru showcases notable performance enhancements when running Bloodborne on a setup with an Intel Core i5-13500 and an RTX 3060 Ti at 1440p resolution. The emulator’s performance has doubled, reaching unprecedented frame rates. Moreover, tests conducted on the Steam Deck OLED reveal that while performance dips may occur in handheld mode, players can still consistently experience frame rates approaching 60 fps during major fights. In docked mode, the game runs smoothly at 30 fps, offering a credible alternative to gaming on the original PS4.
For those eager to see the improvements in action, a side-by-side comparison can be found in this video.
“We may not have a remaster for Bloodborne yet, but these advancements in emulation provide hope to players wishing to revisit this classic title.”
