Escape From Tarkov, a game that has recently launched on Steam, faced a rough start with significant server issues. Players struggled to log in due to overwhelming demand, prompting developer Battlestate Games to acknowledge the challenges openly. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Nikita Buyanov, the director and COO of Battlestate Games, commented, “What a week. This week was actual stress testing not only of our servers but also our mind and nerves for sure. But seeing you enjoy the game makes us feel better.”
While problems like server issues can be resolved, player complaints also relate to the need for existing owners to repurchase the game on Steam. This decision has caused some discontent, although players can still access the game through the Battlestate launcher.
Looking towards future updates, Buyanov mentioned plans to prioritize fixes and enhancements, introduce seasonal content, and new storyline quests. Particularly, the game will undergo seasonal changes, including snowfall, adding a new layer to the already immersive environment.
