New Live-Action Far Cry Series to Follow Unique Season Formats

The upcoming Far Cry TV series will adapt the games' standalone style, featuring different settings and casts each season.

Ubisoft recently unveiled plans for a live-action Far Cry television series set to air on FX, guided by the creative vision of Noah Hawley, known for his work on Fargo. The series will embrace the franchise’s signature anthology format, allowing each season to introduce a new backdrop and cast of characters.

“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is it’s an anthology. Each game is a variation of a theme, just like Fargo provides different narratives each season,” said Hawley.

In a recent statement, Mac, who also stars in the show, expressed excitement: “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created.”

Considering the expansive locales featured in the Far Cry games, future seasons could range from stunning tropical paradises to vast mountain ranges.

As an intriguing possibility, fans speculate whether the series might even explore the less talked-about prehistoric setting from Far Cry Primal. What do you think about a caveman-themed adventure starring Rob Mac?

The series follows Ubisoft’s previous efforts in television adaptations, including the well-received animated series Captain Laserhawk.
