Minor Revision Revamps Deadlock's Core Features and Adjusts Every Hero

A recent update has significantly modified the gameplay dynamics of Deadlock, affecting various mechanics and hero attributes.

The recent update for Deadlock has led to remarkable changes reminiscent of Heroes of the Storm.

  • Two noteworthy adjustments have been made to the trooper mechanics. Previously, players earned souls upon a trooper’s demise, half of which were instantly shared with allies while the remainder floated up into the air to be collected. In this new update, players must manually collect the first portion from the ground in close proximity, promoting more in-game engagement.

  • Interestingly, this collectible soul feature will not be accessible to the opposing team, thereby encouraging a more competitive environment.

  • Additionally, healing mechanics have been revamped; the healer trooper instead drops a medic pack when defeated, providing health restoration to nearby teammates.

These revisions seem tailored to provoke more aggressive gameplay, altering strategies for engaging with lane mechanics while enriching the late-game experience by allowing players to claim souls after troop deaths.

Valve’s announcement of this ‘small update’ also includes significant balance changes across nearly all heroes, where some heroes were subjected to substantial adjustments while most only experienced minor modifications. Notably, Mirage’s ultimate change now allows him to reach friendly objectives with enhanced agility.
