The name ‘Black Friday’ suggests that these sales occur on a single day—specifically, a Friday. While it technically falls on November 28 this year, the sales actually commence in early November. I’ve been tracking Australian Black Friday PC gaming promotions for weeks, especially from major retailers like Mwave, Amazon, eBay, and JB Hi-Fi. Here’s my continuously updated guide to the available deals.
When do Black Friday Sales End?
The key question is: when do these sales wrap up? For those waiting for a paycheck to indulge in the deals, you’ll be glad to know that many offers extend into December.
Sales typically persist on the Saturday and Sunday immediately following Black Friday. More significantly, the upcoming Cyber Monday, slated for December 1 this year, follows the same weekend. Cyber Monday was initially an online-focused counterpart to traditional Black Friday, but the lines have blurred significantly.
Expect at least some promotions to last throughout Cyber Week, running into the following week and concluding around December 5. After that, you might still find a handful of deals lingering into the next weekend.
However, keep in mind that sales during Cyber Week generally feature fewer items compared to Black Friday, and major products may already be sold out by then. For instance, significant discounts on gaming consoles often run out by this time.
Here are some deadlines set by popular retailers for their Black Friday/Cyber Week promotions:
- JB Hi-Fi: December 1
- Amazon: December 1
- Mwave: Black Friday until November 28, but Cyber Monday runs from December 1–12
- Kogan: December 6
- Razer: December 7
