I’m not an expert in real-time strategy games, but I have a soft spot for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. With countless hours spent in the various campaigns and skirmishes, I’ve been eagerly waiting to see any updates for this beloved series. Finally, the Steam versions of these games are now equipped with achievements, adding a new layer of challenge for nostalgic players.
The recently released definitive edition has introduced these enhancements, which are also available for the GOG version. The new achievements include winning matches as different factions, exploring various campaign endings, and accomplishing unique tasks, such as slaying 666 space marines in a single playthrough.
This patch adds achievements without recognizing any prior game progress, as some of the older data was not tracked. Players only need to complete campaigns to earn credit, making it easier for those who had previously finished the game to simply replay final missions.
For those who cherish these titles, this update gives a compelling reason to revisit Dawn of War, especially in multiplayer matches where you could even let your friends win while chasing those achievements!
