I encounter slow internet speeds since I live in a limited bandwidth area, which makes game downloads a lengthy process. As such, I often rely on preloading when possible.
One such game, Arc Raiders by Embark Studios, activated its preload feature recently, allowing many players to queue up for the launch set for tomorrow. Unfortunately, not everyone has enjoyed this luxury.
Official Statement: “Due to an unforeseen issue, preload has been disabled on the Epic Games Store. Arc Raiders will be available for download at 10:30 AM CET on October 30th, 2025. We apologize for any inconvenience, Raiders!”
The statement was shared via an official social media post, outlining the readiness for Arc Raiders while addressing current issues with preloading on the Epic platform.
As the launch approaches, gamers are expressing their dissatisfaction. One user remarked, “The first five words of this tweet made me want to throw up,” while another pondered, “Who would even choose Epic over Steam?”
Considering that Epic Games only began enabling preloading recently, these hiccups are not entirely unexpected. Yet, the inability to prefund such a highly anticipated game has drawn significant reactions.
The good news is that the download size for Arc Raiders is manageable at 26.8 GB, meaning that even users with slower connections should have it downloaded in a short period. As many await the game’s launch, they hope to enjoy an uninterrupted experience.
