Firaxis is testing a much-anticipated feature for Civilization 7, allowing players to guide a single civilization throughout the entire game. This new option aims to address feedback from the community regarding the game’s Ages system, which divides gameplay into significant historical periods, often resulting in players needing to switch civilizations.
The internal testing for this feature, named ‘Continuity Mode,’ will commence in the upcoming months. It looks to be a more engaging approach, letting players maintain control of their civilization through different ages, as they manage historical transitions—an aspect many players felt was essential.
Firaxis has acknowledged the mixed reception of Civilization 7’s launch, highlighting their commitment to listen to player feedback in the development process. They are hopeful that this new feature will rekindle interest and bring back players who may have lost touch with the game due to its previous mechanics.
