Redsec Battle Royale Hints at Boats in Battlefield 6, Reviving Dreams for Naval Combat
The newly announced Redsec Battle Royale indicates the potential introduction of boats in Battlefield 6, offering players the hope of large maps and naval combat.
Battlefield has had a peculiar approach to naval warfare, featuring it only sporadically. Recently, however, the game has shown a troubling omission of boats, but that may change with the introduction of Redsec. This free-to-play battle royale mode, launching alongside Season 1, features the expansive Fort Lyndon map which is equipped with vehicles including the RHIBs reminiscent of the engaging Carrier Assault from Battlefield 4.
The full essence of naval combat doesn’t seem lost, and fans are now left hoping for more expansive maps that will include sufficient water to support boat battles. Maybe we’ll even see some beloved maps from the past make a return, such as Paracel Storm from Battlefield 4’s Naval Strike DLC.
EA’s intentions with this reveal have stoked excitement around the potential for greater naval combat in future updates for Battlefield 6.
