Images of the canceled God of War multiplayer game have recently emerged online. Originally developed by Bluepoint Games, this canceled project would likely have revisited Greece, as depicted in these newly surfaced screenshots.
Back in January, Sony was reported to have canceled two live-service games. One of these was an open-world military shooter from Bend Studio, while the other was the God of War multiplayer game by Bluepoint Games, a studio recognized for its work on the Demon’s Souls remake.
Canceled God of War Multiplayer Would Have Taken Place in Ancient Greece
Recent images shared with MP1ST indicate that the multiplayer edition could have taken the God of War franchise back to Greece, featuring temples and artifacts inspired by the area. Some images reveal temple interiors, expansive caves with sulfur pools, and large environments designed for multiplayer gaming.
An intriguing highlight from the images was a location dubbed ‘Hades’ Armory.’ While it’s unclear if Hades would be part of the gameplay, the images suggest this area could have been significant, showing it in two contrasting states—one standard and one ‘cursed,’ marked by a crimson corrosion, hinting at potential gameplay mechanics. Sadly, as the multiplayer God of War initiative is now scrapped, speculation is all that remains for gamers."
