Fatshark To Continue Supporting Vermintide 2, No Plans For Third Installment

Fatshark prioritizes ongoing support for Vermintide 2 over the development of Vermintide 3.

Continuing to support Vermintide 2 and Darktide takes priority over sequels.

“We had a guy in Korea that broke Vermintide 1 because he had played it so much he hit, in the background, level 999 or something like that,” says Victor Magnuson, currently design director of Darktide. “He just got stuck because it couldn’t go above that number. We had to patch the game to allow him to play more, because the number just couldn’t go up.”

This highlights Fatshark’s commitment to the games, ensuring they evolve with player feedback. The studio announced extensive support for both titles during the 10th anniversary of Vermintide, indicating ongoing development into 2025 and beyond. However, as per design director Joakim Setterberg, they have opted not to produce a Vermintide 3 since they believe Vermintide 2 still has significant growth potential.

“Vermintide will keep on going,” he stated, adding that there are plenty of gameplay elements that they aim to refine, engaging the dedicated fanbase further.
