The ARK: Ultimate Survivor Edition has received a significant performance patch for the Switch 2, enhancing the visual fidelity and frame rates.
Despite these improvements, various users of ARK: Survival Evolved have reported some performance complications stemming from this update.
The update, identified as version 2.0.14, became available on October 15. It utilizes the enhanced capabilities of the Switch 2, allowing for higher visuals and smoother frame rates. It additionally boosts shadow and anti-aliasing qualities. While these enhancements are highlighted in the update’s notes as delivering the ultimate experience, community feedback indicates that players have experienced inconsistent performance, with some reports noting frame rate dips to 25fps during gameplay, only seeing stability at 60fps when gazing at the sky.
Since its eShop launch in November 2022, this edition has incorporated five expansions—Aberration, Extinction, Scorched Earth, along with Genesis Parts 1 and 2.
A notable aspect of this update is that it offers a 60% discount, reducing the price to $19.99 until November 5. Players are advised to utilize the in-game transfer system to migrate to new servers before the November 5 shutdown.
