As if players needed more reasons to be on edge in The Outlast Trials, an upcoming update will introduce the game’s first PvP mode, turning friends into foes.
This mode, dubbed Invasion, will launch on October 21 and will add actual player-controlled Reagents who will threaten your survival, alongside the traditional NPC horrors.
Players familiar with the game know that some characters might resemble their friends. However, in this mode, friends could become hostile, turning what was previously an AI encounter into a life-or-death situation against real players.
In this PvP mode, Imposters will use disguises to gain players’ trust before ambushing them. Strategies involve tracking players through surveillance cameras and timing attacks for maximum damage, adding a level of deception not seen in previous encounters.
In addition to the tension created by player betrayal, the existing threats from the game, such as Grunts and Coyle, remain pertinent, requiring players to remain vigilant.
The Invasion mode promises to be a thrilling addition for those looking to inject some chaos into their gameplay. If you’re ready for a terrifying experience where your friends could easily turn into your worst nightmare, get prepared for this exhilarating update!
