In World of Warcraft: Legion Remix, players have once again found themselves stripped of their hard-earned demi-god status after hours spent grinding elite monsters. This latest nerf comes in a long line of adjustments that aim to balance gameplay within the Christmas event, embracing a theme of nostalgia through remixed expansions.
The game’s Remix concept provides players with the chance to replay past expansions, and recently players discovered methods to rapidly increase their Infinite Power through farming certain elite enemies and gathering resources at an unprecedented rate. While these activities are part of the gameplay, Blizzard has stepped in to address the substantial gains some players accrued through these methods.
In an official statement shared through the Legion Remix forums, community manager Linxy stated:
“Due to an oversight in our loot table setup, some activities—particularly elite farming, herb gathering, and mining—were unintentionally yielding far more Infinite Power than intended.”
BLizzard has decided to reduce the Infinite Power obtained from these specific activities while resetting those affected to a baseline level of 10 million, still a commendable figure, to ensure a balanced economy moving forward. This decision, although unpopular among farmers who enjoyed exploiting this particular mechanic, aims to keep gameplay engaging and fun without detracting from the core experience.
Ultimately, as players look forward to future expansions and potential exploits, the balance between enjoyment and fair play continues to be a hot topic for Blizzard and its community.
