Nvidia has commenced the distribution of its first DGX Spark mini ‘supercomputers,’ with Elon Musk receiving the initial unit. The delivery occurred at SpaceX’s facility, where Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s founder and CEO, humorously remarked, “Imagine delivering the smallest supercomputer next to the biggest rocket,” in reference to the Starship’s capacity.
The DGX Spark, initially known as Project Digits, serves as a compact AI supercomputer crafted from Grace Blackwell silicon. This configuration incorporates a GB10 chip capable of achieving one petaFLOP, complemented by a Grace CPU with 20 Arm cores, alongside 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 4 TB of NVMe storage.
Huang confirmed that these systems will enable users to leverage AI capabilities at home. If you wish to explore related developments, consider reading about the upcoming N1 APU that will utilize the same technology as the DGX Spark.
