Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 director Guillaume Broche has revealed that the game still has undiscovered secrets left for players to find. Every frame of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is crammed with detail, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that even the most hardcore fans still have new things to discover.

When it launched in April 2025, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 became a breakout hit, swiftly entering the 2025 Game of the Year race. Since then, it has maintained a strong presence in conversations for prestigious awards this year and achieved a remarkable milestone of 5 million sales for a small studio like Sandfall Interactive.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Broche noted that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has additional secrets awaiting discovery. “I don’t want to disclose them because they would no longer be secrets. They could have been found, but I’ve not seen any reports about them. There are still a few things out there, yeah,” he stated. Broche also shared his amusement at players mistaking some elements for secrets when they aren’t, saying, “The funny thing is [fans] found secrets that were absolutely not secrets originally. And we are just like, okay cool. I guess that’s a secret!”

The excitement continues as it was announced that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will receive a future update, which will introduce an entirely new location and potentially more secrets for players to uncover. This suggests an ongoing journey for gamers who are delving deep into the intricacies of this fascinating world.
