At PAX Australia, members of the Gearbox team shared exciting updates about the future of Borderlands 4. The upcoming content includes:
-
A Halloween-themed event titled Horrors of Kairos scheduled from October 23 to November 6. This event will introduce new elements like “blood rain” for world bosses, exclusive legendary loot, and a pumpkin-head cosmetic obtainable via Shift codes.
-
Paid content is also on the horizon with Bounty Pack: How Rush Saved Mercenary Day, set to release on November 20. This DLC features a series of missions and a boss fight with story elements centered around Rush, maintaining the spirit of seasonal celebrations amid restrictions.
-
A significant free update is expected in December, introducing a new difficulty level and an endgame challenge boss, harkening back to the infamous Crawmerax from the original Borderlands.
-
In the first quarter of 2026, players can look forward to additional Bounty Packs, a new Story Pack, and the introduction of a new Vault Hunter, a robot named C4SH. More raid bosses and future content are also in development.
