Doug Cockle, the voice behind Geralt of Rivia in CD Projekt Red’s acclaimed trio of Witcher games, has made waves this week as he confirmed his involvement in Netflix’s animated film, Sirens of the Deep. He described slipping back into Geralt’s voice as akin to “slipping into a warm bath” but also like a muscle he’s finely trained.
“I can confirm that Geralt will appear in The Witcher 4,” Cockle stated, reinforcing CD Projekt’s earlier announcements made during the game’s first trailer revealed back in December. He continued, “I can’t say exactly in what way or how much.”
Translation: I can confirm that Geralt will appear in The Witcher 4.
In previous interviews, Cockle hinted at a recurring role, mentioning caution due to a reprimand from CD Projekt for discussing project details prematurely. Now that the game is fully in production, he seems to have the green light to share information openly.
“I’m thrilled about Ciri stepping in as the new focus,” he expressed. “I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds in The Witcher 4, and I’m excited to metaphorically go on Ciri’s journey.”
Translation: I’m eager to see the direction of Ciri’s story.
Rumors about Geralt’s lesser role remain speculative, as Cockle remains tight-lipped about any specifics regarding his character’s depth or narrative significance.
