Hollow Knight: Silksong continues to be explored by players keen on uncovering the secrets embedded by Team Cherry over its lengthy development. Recently, a user from the Silksong speedrunning Discord revealed a glitch that could create a nearly unkillable version of the character Hornet.
This glitch allows players to manipulate the game’s mechanics to fly through locations, ignoring traditional limits. While users initially experimented with cheats to access this capability, it has now been achieved during regular gameplay against tough bosses.
The glitch occurs when a silkeater, which normally replenishes silk by collecting dropped items, is consumed at a specific moment in the game. This can result in Hornet being freed from the constraints of gravity, allowing for unique gaming experiences.
Players have found that, while using this technique, Hornet floats uncontrollably unless adequately steered, making early game exploits possible. Kilroy, a prominent user, noted, “Now it takes a long time to set up … but if you do this on a Steel Soul run or something, I can guarantee you that with enough setup, you won’t die ever.” This new trick has the potential to disrupt speedrunning records significantly, with the current benchmark already sitting below 10 minutes.
