Minecraft Players Can Experience New Features From Upcoming Mounts of Mayhem Drop Right Now

Players of Minecraft can start exploring the new features introduced in the Mounts of Mayhem update right now with the latest Java Snapshot.

Minecraft players can check out some of the new features being added to the game in the upcoming Mounts of Mayhem game drop right now. The latest Minecraft Java Snapshot has introduced new creatures, equipment, a weapon, and multiple tweaks to current mechanics.

Minecraft snapshots serve as a testing method for developmental versions of the game ahead of official updates. Mounts of Mayhem was announced at the end of September, marking the fourth game drop for 2025. While many gamers are still enjoying the recent release of The Copper Age, those eager for future additions can explore the latest snapshot.

The new Java snapshot, 25w41a, allows players to access several exciting new features. Notably, the Nautilus has been introduced, a tameable mob that players can use for underwater travel. The Nautilus resides in all ocean biomes and possesses a dash attack. Players should be cautious, as it takes suffocation damage when out of water. However, riding a tamed Nautilus provides players with the unique Breath of the Nautilus, allowing them to breathe underwater.

In addition to the new mounts, a Spear weapon has also been incorporated, featuring different stats depending on its material. The spear boasts a longer range than typical tools and weapons, though it will inflict no damage if the target is too close. The spear includes Jab and Charge attacks and can be found as loot from Zombies, Husks, and Piglins.

New Features

  • Added Nautilus and Zombie Nautilus
  • Added Nautilus Armor
  • Added Spear Weapon
  • Updated advancements to include Nautilus, Zombie Nautilus, and Zombie Horse

Players are encouraged to share feedback on any issues encountered while experimenting with the Snapshot, enabling developers to refine any problems before the formal launch.
