Cards Against Humanity Introduces Special Edition to Bypass Tariffs on Christmas Sales
The popular party game announces a new edition that explains its jokes to circumvent Donald Trump's tariffs.
Cards Against Humanity has recently introduced a special edition of its game called Cards Against Humanity Explains the Joke. This edition features an explanation for each joke card, effectively transforming it into what the company describes as an “informational product”. The change allows this edition to be exempt from the tariffs imposed by Donald Trump, termed by the company as ‘stupid tariffs’ that threaten consumer spending during the holiday season.
According to the announcement, this new edition is available for pre-order at a price of $25 until October 15, with all profits directed toward the American Library Association to combat censorship. The company doesn’t shy away from criticizing Trump’s policies, highlighting how the tariffs lead to increased prices for everyday items during the holiday season.
Example Card Explanation: One of the cards, “This week’s mass shooting,” is explained as follows:
“America experiences so many mass shootings and so normalizes them that the non-specificity of this joke heightens its comedic realism. Sad fact: this card was once ‘This year’s mass shooting.’”
This new approach is intended not only as a critique of the current political landscape but also as a humorous take on the absurdities surrounding tariffs and consumer goods.
