A few days ago, WWE 2K25 confirmed it would release a special DLC in honor of John Cena’s retirement tour, set to launch on October 16. The data miners have already uncovered the content of this DLC, which officially marks Brock Lesnar’s return to the series.
As fans of WWE 2K know, Lesnar was a notable absence in WWE 2K24, both as a playable character and as a cover star. While it was never publicly stated, many speculated that this decision stemmed from a lawsuit involving Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, who named Lesnar in a legal action filed against WWE and Vince McMahon in January 2024. Notably, Lesnar is not implicated in the lawsuit.
Recently, Lesnar returned to the ring, defeating John Cena in a fierce match at WWE Wrestlepalooza.
DLC Additions for John Cena’s Farewell Tour
The WWE 2K25 Patch 1.26 introduced extra files revealing details for the upcoming John Cena DLC. In addition to Brock Lesnar, Cena’s looks from ‘03 and WrestleMania 41 will also be included. There will also be a character named Ron Killings, better known as R-Truth, featuring his Ron Cena version. Furthermore, the DLC is expected to introduce five new T-shirts in the CAS mode, inspired by outfits Cena wore in locations such as London, Scotland, and SummerSlam.
Here’s the list of characters included:
- John Cena (WM41)
- John Cena ‘03
- R-Truth Ron Cena
- Brock Lesnar
- Kane ‘03/Kane ‘08
There are speculations that Brock Lesnar will also have a model based on his SummerSlam ‘25 appearance and it’s worth noting this will be an entirely new model, not merely the one cut from WWE 2K4.
As of now, the pricing for the John Cena Farewell Tour DLC remains undisclosed, but fans anticipate more information soon.
