Pokemon GO Unveils Halloween 2025 Event Highlights
Niantic announces new features and encounters for the upcoming Halloween event in Pokemon GO, scheduled for late October.
Niantic reveals the second part of its annual Halloween event for Pokemon GO, adding new encounters and more later this month. As a live service title on mobile, Pokemon GO is continuously updated with limited-time events to keep its player base engaged, with real-world holidays being a significant part of that schedule.
Each October, Pokemon GO holds a special Halloween event, generally adding a new quest line, Pokemon with unique outfits, and emphasizing Dark and Ghost types. For instance, last year featured Froakie wearing a witch hat and Rowlet spawning with a top hat, with their evolutions retaining the costumes. This trend is expected to continue later this month as Niantic presents its plans for Halloween 2025.
Halloween Event Part 2 Details
Earlier this week, Pokemon GO players were introduced to the first part of the event, showcasing new encounters and this year’s costumed Pokemon. However, there’s more to come as Niantic has confirmed the second part of the Halloween event, commencing on Monday, October 27 and lasting until November 2. Teddiursa and Noibat will be the featured costumed Pokemon during this period, with Teddiursa donning a witch hat and Noibat sporting a headband. Their evolutions will also keep the costumed appearance.
Expect event bonuses during this celebration like costumed Pokemon having a chance to yield Rare Candy and Rare Candy XL when captured with Nice Throws or better. New Field Research Tasks, Major Milestones, and bonuses for the Halloween GO Pass will also be available. One and Three-Star Raids will feature Halloween-themed Pokemon, including Tricks & Treats Gengar and Halloween Mischief Drifblim, Pikachu, and Piplup. Additionally, Shadow Raids in Pokemon GO will introduce Yamask and Phantump.
Following tradition, a remixed version of the original Pokemon games’ Lavender Town theme will play each night. Pokemon encounters, PokeStops, and Gyms will be decorated for the Halloween festivities. For players wanting more, the in-game store will offer new items, including a Polteageist Hat for their avatar and event-themed stickers.
