Zelda Williams Condemns AI Representations of Her Late Father
Zelda Williams criticizes the use of AI technology to replicate her father's likeness, calling it a distortion of human legacy.
Zelda Williams, the daughter of the beloved late actor Robin Williams, has voiced her disdain for AI-generated content that utilizes her father’s likeness. In a heartfelt plea on social media, Zelda remarked, “Please, just stop sending me AI videos of Dad. Stop believing I wanna see it or that I’ll understand, I don’t and I won’t… It’s dumb, it’s a waste of time and energy, and believe me, it’s NOT what he’d want.”
Zelda further expressed her frustration, saying, “You’re making disgusting, over-processed hotdogs out of the lives of human beings, out of the history of art and music… just so people can churn out horrible TikTok slop puppeteering them is maddening.”
She condemned the reduction of her father’s legacy into mere mimicry, and highlighted the dangers and absurdities of this type of technology, calling it a Human Centipede of content.
This statement comes in the wake of advancements in AI tools, such as OpenAI’s Sora2, which have been used to recreate videos featuring deceased personalities.
