Vampire Survivors Developers Announce Upcoming Online Co-op Mode

The creators of Vampire Survivors have confirmed that an online co-op feature is on the way, alongside answers to lingering questions fans have.

Vampire Survivors is accurately named not only for its theme but also for its resilience. With the release of an announcement trailer this morning, the developer Poncle has commenced a series of teasers leading to the enhancement of the much-anticipated 1.14 update, primarily highlighting the long-awaited online co-op mode.

The teaser features a simulated Windows 95 desktop, likely belonging to Poe Ratcho, marked by the ever-spinning head of garlic visible on an application dubbed “Garlic.exe.” The scene unfolds with a cursor clicking on a program showcasing a large red button accompanied by the text “Press here for online,” providing a sneak peek into online co-op gameplay for Vampire Survivors.

As expected, up to four players will have the opportunity to defeat hordes of enemies together.

Poncle stated, “Play online with up to 3 other friends from around the world, just as Poe Ratcho intended. Free roam the stages while your friend tries to navigate through Astral Stair, or see if everyone can endure Room 1665… Increased players doesn’t necessarily mean easier gameplay, does it?”

While the online co-op’s arrival has been anticipated since it made its debut in the beta branch in August, fans now have clearer insights into its launch. The teaser trailer marks the beginning of a five-part weekly reveal series. Given Poncle’s trend of announcing same-day updates, it wouldn’t be surprising if the 1.14 update arrives concurrently with the final feature reveal in November.

According to the beta branch update notes, we already know of certain new additions: two fresh stages called Mazzerella and Westwoods, which will include typical new unlocks. However, the nature of the remaining features remains unclear—but Poncle hinted that it might finally address a highly asked question.

Some part of me holds hope that we will discover whether there’s actually going to be a vampire in this game.
