Apex Legends Introduces New October 2025 Update
The latest update for Apex Legends brings significant balance changes, including nerfs and a much-anticipated weapon's return.
Apex Legends has rolled out a new update aimed at enhancing gameplay in Season 26 by adjusting weapon mechanics, particularly the Peacekeeper shotgun. The update, which isn’t enormous, reflects the ongoing effort by Respawn to balance gameplay elements.
Update Highlights
- The Peacekeeper shotgun’s fire rate has been reduced, and its magazine size has changed from six to five shells. This adjustment is meant to balance its performance against other shotguns, while keeping its damage output intact. Respawn noted, “The goal is to maintain its raw power in terms of damage and instead disrupt how quickly it can put that damage out.”
- Alongside the Peacekeeper, the Sentinel sniper rifle is making a comeback after being temporarily removed due to bugs.
Other Changes
Various other updates in this latest October patch include:
- Restrictions on the Alter character, limiting players to one Void Nexus on the map at a time and preventing knocked teammates from using it to escape.
- Adjustments to Seer’s abilities, including the removal of ADS hover while in Exhibit mode and a new short full-body scan feature when an enemy exits his Ultimate.
- Performance improvements to server stability, along with bug fixes affecting gameplay mechanics, such as adjustments to the Trident.
Overall, these modifications aim to improve the gameplay experience as Season 26 continues. As players adjust to the peacekeeper’s changes, it will be interesting to observe how it impacts the broader weapon meta. For a full list of changes, see the Patch Notes.
