The Transition of Dispatch: From TV Show Concept to Videogame

The game's inception was a potential live-action series, but the pandemic altered its course, leading it to become a videogame.

Dispatch is a game that has transitioned from a potential TV show concept to a video game due to the pandemic challenges.

The game’s creative director, Dennis Lenart, mentions, “We originally started in 2018. It was going to be a potential live-action interactive TV show. And we spent a bunch of time on that, you know, wrote a season’s worth of content, and a thing called Covid hit.” This shift led to a unique gaming experience incorporating elements of management sim and storytelling, appealing to both gamers and those interested in narrative-driven content.
