Activision Addresses Censorship of 'Arc Raiders' in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Activision acknowledges that the censoring of 'Arc Raiders' in Black Ops 7 lobby chats was an unintentional error that will soon be corrected.

Update on Censorship Issue

Activision has announced that the temporary censorship of the term ‘Arc Raiders’ within the chat function of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was the result of an unintended filter error. They are set to rectify this issue shortly.

The game is currently undergoing a beta testing phase, with its full launch planned for November 14. In the meantime, the filtering system incorrectly blocked the specific phrase ‘Arc Raiders’ while still allowing the individual words ‘Arc’ and ‘Raiders’ to be typed separately.

This situation has notably captured the attention of gamers, especially considering the competitive nature of other games, such as Battlefield 6, also set to release soon. The developers are reportedly keen to address community feedback during this beta phase and are also enhancing their anti-cheating measures.

Though the quick fixes are coming forth, this development appears to be a boon for the Arc Raiders team at Embark Studios, which is set to launch its game shortly after. This incident may inadvertently provide additional publicity for their upcoming title, slated for release on October 30.
