Activision Extends Black Ops 7 Beta Just Before Battlefield 6 Launch

Activision has decided to prolong the Black Ops 7 beta, wrapping it up 24 hours before the release of Battlefield 6.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s beta weekend came to an end, but not as quickly as anticipated. Initially set for a brief run, the test period has now been extended by three days until October 9, right before Battlefield 6’s global launch. This adjustment adds a new 6v6 map, Toshin, and allows players to earn double XP during the beta’s final days.

Despite a high level of enthusiasm surrounding Battlefield 6, evidenced by its open beta’s peak of over 500,000 players on Steam, Black Ops 7 has not drawn the same crowd, with numbers dropping below 100,000 concurrent players when its beta opened to all last Sunday. Activision’s decision to extend the beta seemingly responds to this competitive gaming landscape, suggesting a shift in strategy as more players await Battlefield 6.
