Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Reports a Remarkably Low Rate of Cheaters During Early Access
Activision shares stats from the Ricochet anti-cheat system for the 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 7' Early Access beta, revealing an impressive drop in cheaters.
Activision has confirmed the effectiveness of its Ricochet anti-cheat system during the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Early Access beta. Cheating has been a persistent issue for the Call of Duty series, raising concerns that the recent beta might encounter the same problems as its predecessors.
Initially, new clips appeared online showcasing typical cheating methods, prompting player frustration and concern. However, behind the scenes, Activision’s Ricochet team acted quickly, banning numerous accounts caught cheating. New statistics reveal that this team significantly improved the gaming experience amidst the beta’s launch.
Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Anti-Cheat Stats
After the Early Access phase ended, Activision published a thorough analysis illustrating how impactful the Ricochet system was during this beta. Although reminders of initial cheating did surface, the upgraded anti-cheat mechanisms successfully identified and removed flagged accounts, often before any videos could be shared online. In fact, 97% of cheating attempts were thwarted within 30 minutes of entering the game, resulting in fewer than 1% of these attempts actually reaching an active match. Any remaining offenders were subsequently removed from matches almost instantly.
While the stats are commendable, Activision is not stopping there. The company reported that significant cheat developers are now branding their tools as ineffective against the latest installment, with over 40 cheat resellers shut down since the release of Black Ops 6. As the launch approaches, the company underscores the necessity for security measures like Secure Boot to ensure an equitable gaming environment, despite the inconvenience they might cause to some PC users.
As the competition intensifies this year, with** Battlefield 6** emerging as a rival, the scrutiny on Black Ops 7 will be profound, especially with big releases on the horizon.
