The Protomen Release Act 3 After 5869 Days of Anticipation

The Protomen's long-awaited third album, Act 3, has finally arrived nearly 16 years post the release of Act 2, transforming the gaming and music landscape.

The Protomen’s Act 3 is finally here, a staggering 5869 days after the release of Act 2—marking a significant moment in both the gaming and music realms. This album represents over 16 years of anticipation, surpassing the infamous 17 years it took Axl Rose to produce Chinese Democracy.

Act 3, which is inspired by the Mega Man franchise, uses a rock opera format, continuing the band’s visionary storytelling tradition. Fans can access the first two tracks now, with additional songs to be released weekly. The full disc will ship in January 2026.

“We didn’t want to go the traditional pre-order route… we’re going to unleash this story on the world episodically,” the band stated in a report.
