Bungie reveals the commencement of the next Arms Week event in Destiny 2, alongside additional exciting volatile weapon modifications available for a limited period. Players are eager for fresh content, and with the Renegades expansion still on the horizon, this latest limited-time Arms Week event aims to keep Destiny 2 enthusiasts engaged for a bit longer.
However, player participation in Destiny 2 has dropped significantly, with many prominent community figures shifting to alternative games. The recent Edge of Fate expansion intended to rejuvenate the franchise, yet issues such as bugs and discontent with new systems have dampened the experience, pushing players away. Bungie has implemented limited-time happenings like Arms Week to sustain interest in the game.
Arms Week Resumes on October 7 In a recent blog post, Bungie confirmed that Arms Week returns to Destiny 2 during the reset on October 7, this time with a focus on Shotguns. The inaugural Arms Week commenced after the launch of Edge of Fate, utilizing the new Shooting Range and showcasing Hand Cannons for a week. It even introduced a unique shotgun-inspired Hand Cannon, Phoneutria Fera, featuring a distinctive weapon skin.
New weapon modifications, known as Volatile Weapon Mods, are included in this event, providing significant enhancements to legendary hand cannons, like the Phoneutria Fera. This upcoming Arms Week will feature three new volatile mods:
- Unstable Shells: Precision hits or a majority of a pellet spread attach a delayed explosive to the target.
- Illegal Trigger: Each shell fired boosts the rate of fire for a brief period, with increased magazine size and reserves beyond normal limits.
- Aftershock: Final kills generate an energy wave that pushes behind the target.
Despite the present struggles, there may be positive prospects ahead for Destiny 2, especially with the upcoming launch of Renegades, which collaborates with Lucasfilm and the Star Wars franchise. This expansion promises gear and weaponry inspired by Star Wars, alongside a new gameplay style reminiscent of Helldivers 2 offering randomized missions.
There remains a significant challenge for Bungie in maintaining player interest until the launch of Renegade, which is becoming increasingly difficult each week.
