Hopes and Aspirations for AMD's RDNA 4 Graphics Card

A look at the expectations from the upcoming RDNA 4 graphics cards by AMD, exploring features and pricing considerations shared by PCG team members.

AMD is curious about what gamers are most excited about in RDNA4. This has prompted us to reflect on our own hopes. Given Nvidia’s dominance in the GPU market, a strong new generation from AMD is crucial now more than ever.

Our Aspirations for RDNA 4

  • Jeremy L, Critical Pixel Watcher: Pricing is critical for RDNA 4. AMD has struggled with high launch prices leading to negative reviews, which often can’t be reversed with discounts later in the product cycle.

  • Jacob R, The Optimist: There’s actually a chance for AMD to produce a competitive RX 9070 series that stands up against its Nvidia counterparts, marrying performance and price effectively.

  • Andy E, Long-time FSR User: I look forward to an enhanced version of FSR with improved image quality that could pose a real challenge to Nvidia’s performance.

  • Dave J, Pessimist: The recent CES event gave little hope for aggressive competition as Nvidia continues to ramp up its offerings.

  • James B, AMD Skeptic: I desire RDNA 4 to offer good value, not necessarily the best technology.

  • Jacob F, Resigned User: My intent is to find justification for spending on a new graphics card that meets today’s gaming needs.

  • Nick E, Feature-focused Aspirant: I hope that RDNA 4 will deliver the same features as Intel and Nvidia GPUs without a compromise on performance.

Conclusion: These insights illustrate that while anticipation builds for RDNA 4, AMD has much to prove regarding competitive pricing and features.
