A gaming TikTok creator claims they flew over to Edinburgh, Scotland to demand answers regarding GTA 6 from random Rockstar North employees outside of the studio’s offices in the Scottish capital. It looks like it was a wasted trip, unsurprisingly.
The TikTok video was shared on X by Gameroll (cheers, VideoGamer), showcasing the TikToker, who goes by Backonboulevard, standing outside Rockstar North, though it seems they did not embark on this transatlantic journey solely for this brief, trivial video.
The intention might have been serious, but the execution was far from it. The video frames itself as a series of interviews: “Interviewing GTA 6 developers as [sic] Rockstar North.” What transpired instead was an odd display of yelling at passersby—individuals who might not even be employees of Rockstar or involved with GTA 6.
The shouting amounted to questions like, “When’s the next delay?” and “When’s the next trailer?” GTA 6 is set to launch on May 26 next year, following a revealing trailer released in May.
Rockstar is typically tight-lipped about their projects, and as it stands, there seems to be no further delays. Regardless, harassing developers for information is never acceptable, particularly not near their workplace, which only serves to contribute to a more stressful environment.
Backonboulevard asserts that their channel includes both gaming content and comedy; however, this particular incident lacked comedic value and resembled harassment, encouraging inappropriate behavior toward individuals simply performing their jobs.
Some viewers recognized the absurdity of the situation in the comments, including a response from someone claiming to work on GTA 6: “As a GTA 6 developer currently, we can’t share any information about delays or anything but please bear with us and don’t harass our developers.” However, comments supporting Backonboulevard’s bizarre initiative also emerged, suggesting the frightened individuals he shouted at were avoiding him due to impending delays rather than a desire to escape the disturbance.
This situation is frustratingly reflective of a wider issue where content creators sometimes target those just trying to go about their day, proving that there remains a growing contention between personal boundaries and social media fame.
