Ubisoft and Tencent have created a new subsidiary called Vantage Studios. This billion-dollar initiative, steered by Christophe Derennes and Charlie Guillemot, is hailed as a pivotal element in Ubisoft’s evolving strategy, with a clear focus on advancing key franchises.

The partnership has been developing since Tencent acquired a significant stake in Guillemot Brothers Limited, which controls Ubisoft. Tencent holds approximately 49.9% of this group, with plans to solidify its influence further, potentially leading to enhanced collaborative ventures in the future.

Vantage Studios to Manage Major Franchises

Vantage Studios will be accountable for continuing the growth of celebrated franchises such as Rainbow Six, Assassin’s Creed, and Far Cry. The official announcement clarifies that the studio will employ development teams from various Ubisoft locations including Montreal, Quebec, Sherbrooke, and others.
