Controversy at the 2025 Six Invitational
Rainbow Six: Siege esports team M80’s head coach, Matheus ‘Budega’ Figueiredo, and team manager, Igor ‘Vivas‘ Vivas, have been “ejected” from the 2025 Six Invitational after an “altercation” that was partly caught on camera. This incident unfolded after M80 lost a match 2-1 to DarkZero Esports, with Budega shouting at members of the DarkZero team. At one point, he even had to be physically restrained from confronting one of the players.
You can hear the loud protests from Budega in the background of this interview clip, and the beginning of the altercation was streamed live.
Budega started yelling after DarkZero was awarded a free round due to a rule violation caused by him. Following the match, Budega faced significant backlash for his actions, which included invading the personal space of DarkZero player Nathan ‘Nafe’ Sharp.
Budega claimed he had refrained from any physical contact, insisting, “A member of BLAST’s staff is making false accusations about me, saying that I physically intimidated him. That’s a lie…” However, these claims have been met with skepticism given the recorded evidence.
Marco Mereu, the founder and CEO of M80, expressed his disappointment over the incident, calling it “completely unacceptable” and expressing shame for how M80 represented themselves that day.
M80 now continues to compete in the lower bracket of the Invitational, with player Leonardo ‘kyno’ Figueiredo assuring fans that the team is more motivated than ever.
