You often hear the tale of how Theseus vanquished the Minotaur and escaped from the labyrinth. But what of the Minotaur’s side? In Minos, players take on the role of Asterion, the half-man-half-bull trapped within the constantly shifting confines crafted by Daedalus.
Revealed at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, Minos operates similarly to a tower defense game. Your mission is to manage the maze’s pathways and set various traps to prevent Greek heroes from reaching the heart of your territory. This gameplay mirrors the popular Orcs Must Die, presented from a top-down viewpoint.
Utilize spikes, ballistae, and boulders to dispense with intruders who dare to invade. You can strategically lure them into narrow corridors, triggering linked traps for massive damage. Alternatively, manipulate rotating passages to divide and conquer opponents one by one.
Players are not just observers; you can also engage in melee combat against remaining foes. As you progress, you’ll uncover more of your story, raising pivotal choices about who escapes and who vanishes into the labyrinth shadows.
Minos is set for release in 2026, but users can access a demo now on Steam.
