Updates from Konami on Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2

Konami provides insights on the ongoing development and challenges of the anticipated Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.

Development on Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 continues according to producer Noriaki Okamura, who spoke during a panel organized by Konami at Tokyo Game Show 2025. Okamura noted that, given the first installment’s numbered title, fans naturally anticipate a subsequent release.

Originally released in October 2023, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 includes modern adaptations of the first three titles in the series, along with Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, and Snake’s Revenge. Each game comes with added digital content, chronicling its storyline and key characters, and even features two digital graphic novels.

During the busy Tokyo Game Show 2025, Okamura confirmed the ongoing efforts regarding the Master Collection. However, he reminded fans to be patient as Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is not expected soon. One major challenge is the potential porting of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, due to its original design for the PS3’s unique Cell processor, making transitions to modern platforms complicated.

Although fans have expressed enthusiasm for news, Konami has not confirmed a timeline for further updates.
