Hollow Knight: Silksong recently received an update in late September 2025 that introduced subtle changes that players might have overlooked. After a long wait, the game is finally available to experience Hornet’s latest adventure. Two updates have been released since the game’s launch.
Significant Changes in Tools and Attacks
YouTuber Visic highlighted several adjustments made by the second update that weren’t included in the official patch notes. Notably, charged attacks now produce silk, enhancing strategies against airborne foes. Players utilizing the Hunter’s Crest will generate two silks, while other crests will yield one. However, the Architect Crest has faced a 29% damage reduction.
Another important fix involved the Flintslate tool, which now delivers 50% more damage when paired with the Hunter, Reaper, or Beast Crests, but has been slightly nerfed with Witch and Wanderer Crests. Players using the Clawline attack with the Hunter focus buff will find it less effective, while the Volt Filament has received a substantial buff, enhancing its overall damage. Ultimately, players can only carry 10 Cogwork Wheels, down from 16, impacting certain strategies.
Community Response
Discussions on Reddit show that players are excited about the silk generation change, with some hopeful that the Hunter’s Crest will continue to see adjustments to improve its viability compared to regular attacks. Additionally, reactions to the Architect Crest nerf have been mixed. With the successful launch of Hollow Knight: Silksong, players believe Team Cherry will keep refining the game to maintain a challenging and immersive experience.
