Silksong’s Any% Speedrun Time Drops Below an Hour
It’s been less than a month since Silksong launched, and players have quickly broken speedrun records. I personally spent 72 hours playing all three acts and collecting many items. However, it seems I was slower than many in the gaming community!
The speedrunning community has crushed the previous records, getting the Any% speedrun time down to 58 minutes and 52 seconds by Nebula, showcasing some advanced techniques. The specific technique that stands out is the use of repeated jumping, known as ‘pogos,’ which allow players to cover more ground quickly.
Interestingly, they’ve bypassed many tools, relying instead on advanced movement techniques. This approach may be efficient but also suggests that utilizing gear might slow down their times.
“Dude! There’s no way!” Nebula remarks as they navigate the game. *Translation: ‘No way!’ Nebula expresses disbelief at the fast pace of their run.
Nebula successfully showed that going through certain areas, like the Mist, has quite a few shortcuts that can save valuable seconds—though they come with increased risks.
No matter what, it’s clear that the Silksong speedrunning community is just at the beginning of discovering tricks. There’s more excitement and improvements on the horizon!
