Fans might still be puzzled why the quirky roguelike Let It Die, known for its bizarre charm, is making a return. Following a short-lived spin-off, publisher GungHo has revealed a sequel titled Let It Die: Inferno set to launch on December 4, 2025.
The first title combined elements of roguelikes and soulslike combat, set in an urban horror landscape that defied conventional gaming norms. It featured characters like Uncle Death, a skateboarding grim reaper, and encouraged unique gameplay styles, such as completing quests with a disinterested teenage girl, all while players navigated a variety of surreal environments.
The sequel is poised to enhance this oddity with more vibrant worlds teeming with fantastical elements like rocket hammers and unique enemies. Notably, it might shift focus slightly towards multiplayer encounters, introducing player-versus-environment and player-versus-player mechanics.
This bold step rekindles interest in a franchise that many assumed would fade into obscurity, showcasing the enduring appeal of bizarre gaming narratives.
